I have a friend leaving next month and she needs to get rid of a load of furniture. Are there any charities that accept bulky items in the city?

Personally am looking for a wardrobe 100 cm wide, 60 cm deep and not more than 2m high...

Wow, great news because she doesn't have a car. I think she has pretty much everything to get rid of except a wardrobe because I remember her using a clothes rail to hang her clothes on. Thanks for the suggestion though!
