The Orchestre de la Musique Militaire de la Région Terre Nord-Est will give a free concert in the Centre Erckmann at 20:30.

Exhibition of art of the Nancy School to celebrate the Universal Exhibition of 1909 which took place in Nancy. At the Musée de l’École de Nancy, 36-38 rue du Sergent Blandan. Open Wednesday to Sunday, 10:00-18:00. Closed Mondays, Tuesdays and public holidays.

The orchestra, conducted by Paolo Olmi with Nemanja Radulovic on violin, will perform Mendelssohn Batholdy's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and Thaikovsky's "Polish" Symphony No.3 in the Salle Poirel, 3 rue Victor Poirel at 20:30. Tickets are €22, €19 and €15.

Over 70 dealers will present furniture, jewellery, art objects, books and silver for sale at the Parc des Expositions de Metz Métropole, rue de la Grange aux Bois, 10:00-20:00. Entry is €6.50, free to under 12s.

Exhibition of nudes by the local painter and interior designer at the Galerie HD14, 14 rue aux Ours. Open Monday to Friday, 09:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00; Saturday 11:00-19:00.

Traditional market with 90 stalls and a double-decker carousel in Place Saint Louis, 10:00-20:00 (21:00 on Saturdays).

After a ride in a small train, children will be able to meet Father Christmas at the Forum Saint-Jacques. 10:00-12:30 and 13:30-19:00

Twenty chalets will have seasonal arts and crafts including decorations for sale in Place Saint-Jacques, 10:00-20:00 (21:00 on Saturdays).

The orchestra, conducted by Simon Gaudenz, will perform Prokofiev's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No.1, the Ouverture from Oberon by Weber and Brahms' Sympnony No.3 in the Church at 20:30.

Exhibition of ink drawings and watercolours by Nobel prize winners for literature, Gao Xingjian and Günter Grass at the Musée Würth, Rue Georges Besse. Open 11:00-18:00. Closed on Mondays, 11th November, 24th December and 25th December.

European contemporary art fair with galleries from across the continent as well as Japan and South Korea. At the Parc des Expositions in Wacken. Open 15:00-22:00 on Wednesday; 11:00-20:00 on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; 11:00-21:00 on Thursday and 11:00-19:00 on Monday. Entry is €12.

The Dutch violinist leads his orchestra in an evening of classical music from Vienna at the Zénith, allée du Zénith in Eckbolsheim at 20:00. Tickets are €48 and €65.

Exhibition linking humans, monkeys and lemurs at the Musée d'Histoire Naturelle et d'Ethnographie, 11 rue Turenne. Open 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-18:00, Sundays 14:00-17:00 only, closed on Tuesdays. Entry €5.

Exhibition of 200 hats and headwear for women at the Musée Unterlinden, 1 rue Unterlinden. Open 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00, closed on Tuesdays. Entry €7.

Five markets, each specialising in different products will take over the centre of the city. A decorations market with 50 stalls will be in place des Domnicains, a local food and drink market will be in place Jeanne d'Arc, gifts will be on sale in place de l'Ancienne Douane, arts and antiques will be on sale in the Koïfhus and toys will be on sale in the Little Venice area. Open 10:00-19:00 (20:00 on Fridays and 21:00 on Saturdays). Closed on Christmas Day.

Fungi of all shapes and sizes will be on display during the festival along with dishes prepared using mushrooms. A market of local produce will also be held in the town centre, 09:00-18:30.

Traditional market with artists selling their home-made crafts and decorations and stalls with local, seasonal produce. Between the Eglise Sainte Croix and the chapel, 11:00-20:00.

Over 100 chalets will be set up to sell traditional Christmas decoration, gifts and foods as well as specialities from Peru which is the guest of honour this year. In Place de la Réunion and Place de la Concorde, 10:00-20:00 (21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays)

A family of automated polar bears will set up residency in a chalet in place des Victoires.

The orchestra, conducted by Gwennolé Rufet, will perform works for children by Poulenc and Hiller at the Théâtre de la Sinne, rue de la Sinne at 14:15 on Thursday and 09:15 and 10:30 on Friday.
